About Me
Originally from France, I draw from my experiences of having lived and worked
in the United Arab Emirates for nearly 40 years
I believe in unwavering kindness, empathy, and understanding
I have witnessed many changes in this part of the world, and have deep empathy and understanding for my clients, who come from various backgrounds, and often talk about the challenges they face here, the emotional difficulties that ‘expat’ life can bring, especially when they feel stuck and unable to find personal or professional fulfilment.
My early years as newly married and an expat weren’t what I had expected. I have first-hand experience of feeling lonely, sad and disconnected, even though I was married and had children. This experience is invaluable today, as my clients often share the same feelings.
I bring to my work, the experiences and nuggets of wisdom of my own healing and understanding of myself, my past, and the generational challenges that have influenced my life. I’m passionate to support my clients on their own discovery and healing journey.
Mental Health & Relationships is my second career. I transitioned from Teaching and Professional Development at an age when most of my contemporaries were making plans for retirement. I have been privileged to work with and learn from multi-cultural clients and students of all ages and backgrounds, within well-reputed national and international establishments in the UAE. I have learnt to be open-minded, intuitive, aware of the energy and dynamic of a group, able to create a safe space for all, curious, accepting, and most importantly a good listener. I have also learnt to keep a leading compass on goals, sustaining hope, positivity, enthusiasm and optimism when times are tough. Useful skills when working with relationships!
Today, my professional and humanistic passion is to help people become conscious of who they are, their dreams, their thoughts, their emotions, what they bring as well as their limiting beliefs and defence mechanisms. Through our own personal work, we become the person we want to be. When people realise that they are the director of their own life and that challenges are growth waiting to happen, transformation takes place.
On a personal note, I have many passions. When I am not with my clients, studying, reading, or writing courses, I love cycling. Whether on dirt tracks or on the amazing roads built in the desert, cycling which I am lucky to share with my husband, reminds me of good times in childhood, when all the kids in our neighbourhood would get together on their bicycle and explore the fields and woods around us. When I am on my bike, I feel strong, healthy, and free.
I also spend time volunteering at Sailability here in Dubai. I started sailing because I wanted to conquer my fear of doing something I had very little control over. For a couple of years now I have supported the activities of Sailability in Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC). Sailability gives children and young adults of determination, the opportunity to learn and enjoy sailing and water sports. Personally, being with these young people also satisfies my ‘mummy’ side who is missing her own children.
Finally, If I weren’t working with people, I’d be a Professional Photographer & Traveller! I’d be a Nomad!
“Vulnerability is not weakness. And that myth is profoundly dangerous.”

- Imago Therapy:
Designed for couples seeking to enhance their relationships and resolve conflicts. The goal of Imago therapy is to create a conscious, loving partnership that promotes growth, empathy, and long-lasting fulfilment.
Developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt, Imago therapy operates on the premise that the challenges and conflicts in adult relationships often have roots in unresolved issues from childhood.
During the sessions, you will get to understand the impact of your individual upbringing and family dynamics on your current relationship. You will practice open and empathetic communication.
As you progress through Imago therapy, you will gain insights into your relational patterns, develop healthier ways of relating, and work towards healing old wounds. You will progressively take responsibility for your own feelings and responses rather than blaming each other. Finally you will strengthen your emotional bonds and overcome challenges in your relationships. - Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals and Couples:
A widely recognized and empirically validated therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Sue Johnson. It is designed to help couples who are experiencing distress or difficulties in their relationships by delving deep into the emotional bonds and attachment patterns that underlie their issues.
EFT is firmly rooted in attachment theory: Humans have an innate need to connect emotionally with others, especially with their romantic partners. When these emotional bonds are disrupted or threatened, it can lead to a range of relationship problems, including communication breakdowns, conflicts, and feelings of isolation.
During sessions you will identify your negative patterns of interaction. Then you will gradually identify and express your needs and emotions in a safe and empathetic environment. And finally you will consolidate the progress you made and apply the skills and insights you have gained during therapy into everyday lives, fostering greater emotional intimacy, responsiveness, and connection. - Gottman Method:
A highly respected and evidence-based approach to couples counselling and relationship therapy developed by Dr. John Gottman and Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman.
Gottman Therapy is a highly structured and research-driven approach to couples counselling that seeks to improve communication, emotional connection, and overall relationship satisfaction. Its evidence-based methods have helped countless couples navigate conflicts, strengthen their bonds, and build healthier, more fulfilling partnerships. - Discernment Counselling:
A specialised form of therapeutic intervention designed to help couples who are facing significant relationship challenges, particularly when one or both partners are unsure about the future of their relationship. This approach is often employed when couples are contemplating whether to continue with their relationship or pursue separation or divorce.
A structured short-term process, Discernment Counselling serves as a decision-making tool and couples gain clarity about their situation and their readiness for the next steps. It does not aim to save the relationship at all costs but rather to facilitate an informed and thoughtful decision.
Couples are encouraged to explore multiple options, including reconciliation, separation, or divorce, while also considering the impact on themselves and any children involved.
Discernment Counselling provides a space for couples to reflect on their relationship without the immediate pressure of making a final decision. This can reduce impulsive choices and regrets. - The Satir Model in Counselling for Individuals, Couples & Families & Mediation Dispute Training:
A comprehensive approach developed by renowned therapist Virginia Satir, the Model is rooted in the belief that individuals and their relationships are interconnected, and that personal growth and healing can best be achieved within the context of these relationships.
